2 W's in same class

I posted a thread a while back about one of my friends who will be applying next year.

I forgot to mention that he has two W's in the same class (calculus), back to back semesters. He took the class a third time and got an A. Would the two W's greatly hinder him in regards to admissions? Does he still have a good chance at the top schools?
