I am a dual citizen (US/CAN). Currently in British Columbia, Canada and have lived here since 2004. I’ve applied to several Canadian schools this cycle. I want to prepare to apply to the US as well for the next cycle, as my entrance this time around is far from guaranteed. Looking for input on schools I should consider and advice for applying to the US. Are there any MCAT-heavy schools that I would have a better chance at?

Hello Everyone!

For quite some time I have been planning on applying next cycle. But after receiving my MCAT score a few people have told me that I should just try to apply DO this cycle. I do not have a preference of location whatsoever. I am currently taking an extra semester now just to boost my GPA a little.

GPA: 3.1sGPA ~3.15cGPA. I have a strong upward trend, as I did quite poorly my Freshman year. By the end of this semester I should be around a 3.2 for both.

Hi all!

I wanted to get opinions on the school list I’ve submitted to and potentially get some more suggestions. To add more context to my stats, I have 150 hours of clinical volunteering, 3 years (~450 hours) of research, went to a T10 undergrad, and have had a variety of ECs and leadership positions in college. Hi I'm Canadian and considering applying to the US if I don't get in to Canadian schools this cycle. Is anyone aware of MD/PhD programs that provide some funding for international students? I would have no way to afford US tuition w/o some funding and I don't have parental support for a large loan.

I've had zero luck so far this cycle, just 19 R's, 2 Holds, and 17 schools silent after secondaries.

I attended an Ivy during undergrad, left with a 3.4 GPA, did a post-bac at that same Ivy (which is apparently infamous for being difficult) and maintained a 3.3 up until the last year when I got rocked by Bio/Orgo and I got 3 C's and a C+ which brought my overall sGPA to a 3.07 (including undergrad). Hi guys. I applied pretty late this cycle and only to two schools due to my late MCAT. I have a 3.3 cgpa/ 3.34. sgpa with a 518 mcat. If I don’t get in this year which I feel is pretty likely, what do you guys think I should focus on for next year? I recently started working in a research lab and will continue volunteering and shadowing. Is there anything else I should do?

Hey Guys,

Pleasure to meet all of you! I would like some help with my application and school list. If there are any suggestions you have for things I should improve in the coming year, I would certainly appreciate the advice! I will be applying for the 2021-2022 cycle.

Hi all,

Currently 2.5 years in as an Orthopedic surgery PA with an interested in going back to med school. Being 27 currently, I didn't know whether I could prepare for the MCAT or not on top of my current job. I was initially set on DO since I figured I would never break 500 on my MCAT, but now I'm not sure whether to apply to MD and DO.

Hi all - I have logistical questions in regards to applying for medical school in the upcoming cycle.

I obtained too many withdrawals and mediocre grades during my freshman and sophomore years due to a poorly controlled chronic illness. I found something that worked for me around March-April of my sophomore year, which was Spring 2019. Since getting healthy, I have been getting straight A's. This started in summer 2019 and continued in fall 2019.

In March 2020, I got 5 more withdrawals (a semester's worth), but this time not related to the illness that caused the other withdrawals. Myself...
