Hey all. I'm wondering if anyone here is in a similar situation or has any words of encouragement/reassurance.

I handed in my secondaries to 14 schools around late August and have only received 2 rejectons (BU and Keck) so far. No interview invites.

Here are my stats:
32MCAT (10V, 10P, 12B), 4.0 sGPA, 3.96 cGPA.

I have decent research experience (3 summer research fellowships, an undergraduate research course, honours research degree, and 1 year of full time employment as a Research...

Hi all,

I'm planning on applying for matriculation in 2017 with >3.9 cGPA/sGPA and a balanced 37 MCAT. Currently I attend a top CA public school and I'm trying to assemble a list of schools to apply to. I'd prefer instate and/or schools that offer merit scholarships. At time of applying I will have 3.5 yrs of research under my belt (hopefully with a 1st author publication), ~200 hours hospital volunteering, ~100 hours volunteering (30 hours with under-served communities), and a treasurer...

Hello,

It is my first semester in nursing school and I've come to realize med school is what I've always wanted. My gpa is high and shouldn't go down much after this semester (3.79). I failed a pass fail nursing school course for dosage. How will this affect me trying to go to med school? I intend to get an even higher gpa next semester by continuing with pre reqs, I'm involved, already have shadowing opportunities lined up, and plan on pursuing more leadership positions in what I'm...

Senior, majoring in Neuroscience with minors in Chemistry and Chinese.
Planning to apply this summer for the next cycle. Planning on graduating a semester late, possibly taking a 5th year if need be. If not, I'll be taking a "gap semester." Planning to apply for the HPSP.
  • 3.4 cGPA
  • 3.2 sGPA (AACOMAS)
  • 3.1 sGPA (AAMC)
  • NY Resident
These GPAs are based on AACOMAS what I'll most likely have at the time. Ideally, if all goes well... 3.45 cGPA, and a 3.29 sGPA (AACOMAS)...

Hi everyone, I just wanted to run this by you all in the hopes of figuring out how I could best improve my application over the rest of my sophomore year, and beyond. While I intend to gain more clinical volunteering hours, I’m not sure what else I should be doing. I also would like to know if I am competitive so far for regular admission to Florida schools such as UF, UCF, etc. I understand this could be difficult to measure without the MCAT. The reason I am posting this early is because I...

Taking 2 gap years, on 1 currently. Work a full time job doing lab stuff and research.

Bachelors of science in hard allied health field
3.5 cgpa

Downward trend, my major caused this dip. I am good with quantitative courses though (my major didn't have many of these).

MCAT: will take this spring hopefully

Shadowing: None (working on getting this either this winter/spring)

Research: tons but no paper. Had a mentor that was slow and I went into a project that I had...

Hi there,

I'm looking to apply to medical school in 2 years (matriculating in 2018) and I'm starting to wonder which medical schools I should be looking at so I can address any particular requirements of certain schools before I graduate. Here's some information that might be relevant:

I'm a senior at a prestigious public university, but I'm an IL resident.
My undergrad GPA is about 3.8, sGPA is 3.78, but I'm still taking some tough science courses, so it could change in the next few...

Hello everyone!
I am like many other pre-med students struggling and waiting to hear back from any med school.
3.89 GPA with a 27 on the MCAT (Verbal 6, English is not my first language and I have not lived in the US for long, moved here for college and I am considered IS)
100+Volunteer hours
80+ Shadowing hours
3 years of Research
and a lot of leadership experience.
I would like to think that I have a strong PS and recommendations.
Should I have any hope at all about hearing back from Texas...

My MCAT score is a 509, 80th percentile. I also got a 97th percentile on the bio section.
I have 450 volunteer hours at a home health clinic and 80 shadowing hours with a DO.
My GPA is terrible, 2.95 cumulative and 2.82 science. This is because of my first semester at college, I practically flunked every class. I'm in my senior year of undergrad and I'm doing well in classes so far. I don't think I'll get a seat in DO for Fall 2016. I did however, get an interview from American University...

I submitted my app (including all Evaluations, MCAT 507 and other stuff) a week ago. So it's verifying stage now for me - probably will take another 2-3 weeks at least. So schools will get my application only around early December. I just don't know if there is enough time for interviews left? It could happen that due to Christmas my interview may get scheduled on January-February? Do they even accept that late? I understand that deadline is officially at March-April for many schools, but...
