I would love if anyone with any admissions experience (or general insight on this process for that matter) could give me some feedback as to what my chances are like? If anyone has any school suggestions to throw my way those would also be greatly appreciated.

MCAT 515, NJ resident.

I'm looking mainly at RowanSOM and NYIT because I'd prefer to either be in an urban-ish environment or close to home.

3 years of clinical research with 2, possibly 3 publications. Not first author, though I did write like 99% of the paper. Research destroyed my grades, got a few C's, bunch of B's, few A's, but I'm out of it now and doing much better.

300 hrs volunteering, I plan to get some shadowing done during my gap year, and I'm getting some clinical hours (?)...

Hi all,

I have a cGPA of 3.88, a sGPA of 3.83.
My MCAT score was a 513 (128, 132,129,124).

I currently have 15 hours of shadowing in an ER, with hoping to have near 50 by time apps open. I have no clinical volunteer experience, but have had over 100 hours of volunteering in a church since I started at my uni. I come from a smaller, private university.

I'm a Texas resident applying to all TMDSAS and a few AAMC schools.

So, that being said, WAMC?

Thinking about skipping this cycle?

Everything for the past 3 years has been leading up to this year. I started post bacc courses in fall of 2014 and graduated from a different school with my bachelors in business that semester. My first semester of post bacc was bad, got a 2.7 but have had a vertical upward trend, I have had a 3.8 for the past year and half for a sGPA of 3.69 for post bacc. My overall sgpa is only a 3.49. I have 2 years of research including a publication and poster, over 500 hours of volunteering in...

Assuming above average extra-curricular activities (I know this is very vague, but best description I could write; e.g. shadowing, volunteer, etc...) if I fall within the 10th percentile for GPA and 90% MCAT for schools on the MSAR, should I apply? The low GPA I have medical reasons as to why, but justification can only get you so far. What should I be looking for while trying to create a list. I know this is very vague but just trying to get an understanding as to what I should be looking...

Low undergrad gpa would like to apply to DO school

Hi there!
I am currently a junior at a State University in NY. My first few years of undergrad left a sting on my GPA and now I am very concerned. I was wishy-washy about what I wanted to do with my life and now I'm paying for it. I have about 2 W's, a few C's and C- 's. I am a psychology major and have the c's in classes I just couldn't take seriously/wasn't interested in. Working and personal issues seriously distracted me in my early years, but I'm completely taking the fall for that and...

I really am unsure of which schools I should be considering reach and target schools with my stats. I am skeptical when using the MSAR to gauge my competitiveness. I enjoy research and have high hopes after visiting an excellent medical school in NY, however, I want to remain grounded in reason and have realistic prospects for financial reasons. Please help! I have a clear motivation, obvious dedication, with a unique undergraduate career due to family issues.

Should I take one or two gap years? (personal stats)

I just had a long conversation with a friend of mine who is in a similar life situation as me and applied to medical school this past cycle. She didn't get into any medical schools and is taking a second gap year, and told me she actually wished she had decided to take two gap years to start with, and recommended I do the same unless I was 100% confident in my application this cycle. I'm currently a senior (graduating in 3 weeks) and was planning on taking one gap year and matriculating into...
