This is my first time posting so hopefully I don't mess it up too bad. Just looking for some honest opinion to decide whether or not to apply this cycle, and I also have no idea what schools are realistic. I am a junior and really really don't want to take a gap year, but after reading the SDN forums I know that it could really help my application. I am being very realistic about this so please don't hold back in letting me know the strength/weakness of my candidacy.

Hello everybody, thank you so much for reading. Any advice regarding my schools list and application in general would be appreciated. Basically I'm concerned because I have high numbers but meh extracurriculars.

Hi All,

I have recently decided, after graduating college, that I want to pursue DO school. I graduated from a respected liberal arts school with a double degree in Neuroscience and Philosophy, but did pretty horribly in a lot of my pre-med classes (mostly C's and B-'s, but early on in college). I ended up with a 2.7 sGPA, and a 3.0 cGPA. I am now in the process of doing an informal post bac, but have just realized that even if I ace all of the recommended pre-med courses (A & P 1 +2,...

Hello, I am a graduating senior who is applying this cycle and I will be taking a gap year.
Recently I learned that, compared to other applicants (mostly my friends), my volunteer hours are much behind.

My current stats are:
508 MCAT
3.7 cGPA
3.6 sGPA

Volunteer work:
~120 hours of non-clinical volunteering, which are:
About 70 hours from hospice volunteering
About 50 hours from two years living in a co-op house - my house did many outreach events for the homeless and the...

Hi, I graduated college (top 25 university) in 2016.
My gpa in undergrad was a 2.8 cgpa and 2.4 sgpa (yikes)

I am not the average applicant because I lack so many things that other applicants have.
I regret alot that I spent my undergrad years comfortably, not pushing myself to go out and involve myself in school activities, volunteer work and research.
I mean, I have experience in volunteering and research and all of that, but I was never "committed" to those...it was all very short, temporary and I hate myself for not trying harder.

I'm sure I want to pursue medicine after pharmacy. Would to love to hear some input as to what my chances of getting into a medical school would be.

I'm enrolled in a 0-6 Pharm.D. program in the NY and will graduate 2019. I'm finishing up my 4th year right now (P2 year) and will apply after I obtain my Pharm.D.

Let's say I keep my GPA at 3.85 for all 6 years, with my science GPA being around a 3.95.

I am applying DO this cycle but don't know much about stat breakdowns at different schools. Does anyone know where a 508 MCAT (127/126/127/128), 3.91 cGPA, and 3.94 sGPA (GPAs calculated by AMCAS) would be competitive, i.e. within school average stats?

Also, I only have about 100 hours shadowing a DO (though >3000 working as a medical scribe for an MD)

I'm trying to decide if my current list is reasonable, if it's possible for me to cut down at all, and if so, which ones I should cut.
