Hi all, I would like to have a help with MD schools list preferably schools that put emphasis on biomedical research. I am also considering MD/PhD route.

Male. Age 26. NY resident.

Took MCAT once: 516 (P132/B131/CARS126/129)

GPA: 3.88, sGPA 3.9. Biochemistry major, Mathematics Minor.

Hello everyone,

I posted here a couple of months ago asking about how to increase competitiveness. I finally received my MCAT score and need your advice again.

Here are my stats before I go on:
3.66 cGPA
3.61 sGPA (I had put 3.59 before, but I found a mistake in my calculations)
(upward trend for both)

MCAT Score: 505 (125/124/128/128)

Extracurriculars
- Musician (multiple instruments) ~12 years
- Can speak Japanese and Korean with basic/intermediate fluency
- Helping cook for church...

I am an Asian student in MA with a 3.5 cumulative GPA and a 3.5sGPA. I have ~200 hours of clinical volunteering, I have worked in 3 labs for research and have 2 publications, as well as ~300 hours of shadowing a physician and ~100 hours of volunteering at various locations (homeless shelters, nursing homes). Hey everyone,

I basically just needed help coming up with a list of schools that I should apply to.

My background and stats:

  • Asian Indian, Illinois resident
  • Go to a public school in IL, cGPA 3.91 sGPA 3.83 (B's were only in Freshman year, since then all 4.0 semesters)

Hi everyone! I need some advice.

I have a GPA of 3.48 and about a 3.3 sGPA. Only C's were in Chem 1B and Statistics (C+). I received an A in Orgo I, Biochem I, Pathophysiology I/II, Physics I. I'm applying for this upcoming cycle and I take my MCAT for the first time in July.

Hi guys,

I was just wondering how my GPA would look to med schools

Basically, I started off as a nursing major and eventually switched at the end of my sophomore year.

My freshman gpas were: 3.813/3.94
Sophomore: 3.25/4.0

Just like the title says. I will be a reapplicant this cycle and would appreciate any input on whether the changes I have made are enough to be competitive. I applied early to a broad range of 18 schools this year and ended up with two early II that led nowhere. I will applied MD only during the current cycle and will apply DO and MD for the 2017 cycle.

I've been having a hard time figuring out my school list because I've got both an undergrad GPA and a graduate GPA that are completely different. My uGPA is ~3.6 from a no-name liberal arts school but my graduate school GPA is ~3.95 in a hard-science thesis masters from a prestigious school.

What is the accepted student GPA range I should aim for in med schools? My MCAT was 518, so I cant find any schools that match my uGPA and my MCAT....
